The final conference of the IN4SAFETY project took place in Nova Gorica on 17 October. Numerous partners presented the project results, the experience gained during the large-scale cross-border exercise GOIn4Safety held in June, and the training activities that were carried out. The event also served as an opportunity to showcase several other cross-border projects in the field of civil protection and rescue.
Several projects addressing the same challenges as IN4SAFETY were presented. The contributions enriched the overall experience by providing data, tools, and good practices that strengthen the network of cooperation between Italy and Slovenia and lay solid foundations for the future of cross-border collaboration.
The cross-border conference, which brought together more than 15 projects, including some from outside the Slovenia–Italy area, was also an opportunity to promote our project CROSS ALERT. Within the framework of Activity 2.2 “Joint cross-border training of civil protection and volunteers for risk prevention and reduction of the consequences of natural disasters”, the Municipality of Ajdovščina carried out a cross-border presentation of the system and facilitated the transfer of experience and good practices from the Slovenian system to Italian colleagues, prior to the implementation of the pilot system of first responders.
The event also hosted other projects related to the health sector, addressing similar topics such as strengthening local resilience and cross-border healthcare cooperation (projects EDURES, ReBUS, SANITAS).
