The Municipality of Tolmin, as a partner of the RecapMCV project, has prepared an interpretation/action plan titled »Kozlov rob Interpretation Center: Interpretation Plan, Strategy for the Treatment and Promotion of Archaeological Heritage at Kozlov rob« for the area of the castle ruins on Kozlov Rob, where the Interpretation Centre Kozlov Rob (ISKR) will be established.
The document, prepared by heritage interpreter Bojana Čibej, defines approaches to the interpretation of the area’s cultural heritage and connects key local stakeholders and future managers in developing guidelines for the creation of thematically complementary tourist products of the future ISKR centre.
In the preparation of the plan, external collaborators were involved, in particular the Municipality of Tolmin’s main local partners – the Tolmin Museum, the Public Institute for Tourism Soča Valley, and the creators of individual contents that will form part of the final centre.
The plan, developed according to the Interpret Europe methodology, is designed to present visitors with the cultural and natural heritage of the Tolmin Basin and its inhabitants, with a focus on three key castle buildings: Kozlov Rob Castle, lower castle on Dor, and the Coronini Palace. Its aim is to deepen the visitor experience, encourage a responsible attitude toward heritage, and invite a transformative experience in line with UNESCO recommendations.
The plan foresees eight thematically connected ISKR tourist products:
• an exhibition on three levels of the north-eastern tower,
• an immersive room,
• an information point,
• gamification of the Kozlov Rob area,
• a guided tour,
• a trail to Kozlov Rob with interpretive panels,
• a recreation app, and
• an opening event for ISKR.
