The Interreg Italy-Slovenia Programme participated in the EUSALP Annual Forum 2025, held on 25–26 November in Innsbruck to celebrate ten years of the Alpine Macro-Regional Strategy and discuss future cooperation challenges.
The first day featured the handover of the presidency from Austria to Bavaria and a keynote by Felix Neureuther, former ski champion and UN ambassador, who stressed the need to adapt Alpine tourism to climate change and invest in education and creativity. A panel with the Youth Council, the Alpine Convention, and Andorra highlighted cross-border cooperation and individual responsibility. The day ended with the award for sustainable mobility initiatives: winner “AlpinLink”.
On 26 November, the Programme joined two key workshops:
Embedding macro-regional strategies: focused on integrating strategies into EU funding programmes through capitalisation, coordinated calls, and common funds.
Fit4Co CBO: showcased a successful bottom-up approach to remove cross-border obstacles and foster innovative projects.
The Forum confirmed the importance of strengthening links between macro-regional strategies and EU programmes, paving the way for a more integrated and impact-oriented 2028–2034 programming period.
