The IRRIGAVIT project was featured during the penultimate day of the Leali delle Notizie Festival of Journalism, on Saturday, June 14, 2025, with the event titled “The Story of a Virtuous Vine Value Chain. The ‘Specogna Case,’ Between Tradition and Innovation. A Bridge to the Future.”
The event, held at 12:00 PM, featured speakers: Paolo Sivilotti (Professor at the University of Udine and project managers of the IRRIGAVIT initiative), Cristian Specogna (owner of Specogna Vini, which hosts an experimental vineyard for the project), Roberto Bruni (agronomist, entomologist, and lecturer in Viticulture and Enology). The discussion was moderated by Benedetta Cimini, a journalist specialized in communication and media relations.Following the talk, there was a toast and wine tasting hosted by Specogna Winery.

The 11th edition of the Journalism Festival took place from June 10 to 15, 2025, in the heart of Ronchi dei Legionari, with several preview events held between May 23 and June 1 under the banner “Waiting for the Festival”, in the towns of Aquileia, Doberdò del Lago, Fogliano Redipuglia, Gradisca d’Isonzo, Gorizia, Sagrado, San Canzian d’Isonzo, San Pier d’Isonzo, and Staranzano.
Focusing on key current affairs, the program explored the often-complex relationship between journalism and its audiences, offering the public a chance to engage directly with professionals and learn how news is created, investigated, and disseminated.
The 11th edition also featured, on its opening night, the 4th Leali Young Award in memory of Cristina Visintini, dedicated to young journalists. On the closing day, it hosted the 8th Leali delle Notizie Award in memory of Daphne Caruana Galizia, the Maltese journalist killed in a bombing in October 2017. Assigned by a dedicated committee, the award is once again held under the high patronage of the European Parliament.
