Our Programme also attended the opening ceremony of the “Mediterranean Coast and Macro-Regional Strategies Week,” held on 16 September at the beautiful venue of Palazzo Manzioli in Izola, Slovenia.
Over the years, this event has evolved into one of the most significant gatherings for all four EU macro-regional strategies, fostering synergies and the development of macro-regional cooperation.
The opening event focused on a roundtable discussion about post-2027 Cohesion Policy, attracting a large and diverse audience of politicians, decision-makers, experts, civil society representatives, and the public at local, regional, national, and international levels. Participants had the opportunity to share reflections on the European Commission’s regulatory proposals for the 2028–2034 programming period with high-level panelists.
Representing Interreg Italy–Slovenia were the Managing Authority, Laura Comelli, and the Head of the Joint Secretariat, Aljosa Sosol, who highlighted the relevance and strategic importance of the Macro-Regional Strategies in shaping new and broader collaborations and high-impact projects for the territories
