Last week, the partners of the Inter Bike III project took a promotional trip around the Caorle Lagoon and canals on a new passenger and bicycle boat, the construction of which was co-financed by the project. It is a three-ton prototype powered by solar energy. There are 14 solar panels with a capacity of 7 kW installed on the roof, and the boat has two 10 kW electric motors and an auxiliary petrol engine. It can carry 25 people and the same number of bicycles. The boat will be operated by the Compagnia Litoranea Veneta association, which already operates several other lines in the Caorle Lagoon. The boat was commissioned by the project partner Caorle.IT. The vessel will sail along the canals of the Caorle Lagoon and will also take cyclists inland along the Lemene River to Concordia Sagittaria. For this purpose, the other project partner, Vegal, has built a landing pier in the town of Cavanella. During the promotional trip, the project partners observed numerous birds that inhabit the lagoon, sailed past traditional wooden fishermen's houses covered with reeds, and viewed the villas and farm buildings that line the canals.
