On October 4th, the new Web App developed within the Interreg BEE2GETHER project was presented at the Vallevecchia Pilot and Demonstration Farm in Caorle (VE). The initiative, which aims primarily at environmental monitoring through innovative technologies, saw the participation of experts in the field, beekeepers, and project partners.
The morning began with an address by Lorenzo Furlan, representative of the Lead Partner Veneto Agricoltura, who illustrated the general objectives of the project, the results achieved so far, and the strategies adopted for the development and implementation of the application. The Web App is the result of a collaborative effort between various partners, with the goal of providing an innovative tool for monitoring the environment and bee health.
Alessandro Zorer then presented the innovation of electronic beehives based on the Melixa system, explaining how these technologies enable constant and detailed monitoring of digital beehives, contributing to the collection of essential data for the project.
Antonella Stravisi from the University of Udine illustrated the functioning of the Web App, highlighting the numerous benefits it will bring to environmental health monitoring. Thanks to this technology, it will be possible to obtain real-time information on bee health and the surrounding environment, promoting a more sustainable and conscious management of natural resources.
In the afternoon, field tests and technical sessions were held, during which beekeepers and partners had the opportunity to directly test the application and electronic beehives. These practical moments proved essential to demonstrate the effectiveness of the technologies presented and to gather useful feedback for the continuous improvement of the tools.
The BEE2GETHER project represents an important step toward more effective environmental monitoring, thanks to the integration between technology and beekeeping, strengthening collaboration between beekeepers, scientists, and institutions.
