On Saturday, August 16, 2025, a cleanup campaign took place in Beka, organized by the Municipality of Hrpelje - Kozina and the Village Community of Beka as part of the European project ENGREEN 2.
The event aimed to strengthen green infrastructure in the cross-border cultural landscape between Italy and Slovenia and to raise public awareness about the importance of sustainable environmental practices.
The event began at 9 a.m. with a gathering of volunteers who enthusiastically set out to clean the surroundings of the village. Participants included residents of Beka, representatives of the municipality, local associations, and other interested individuals. Together, they contributed to a cleaner and more orderly environment and demonstrated the importance of community involvement in nature conservation.
After the cleanup, a cultural program followed, offering participants an opportunity to relax, socialize, and connect. At 7 p.m., the event continued with a village celebration, during which the organizers presented the goals and activities of the ENGREEN 2 project.
The atmosphere was pleasant, and the collaboration among participants was encouraging and unifying. The cleanup campaign in Beka successfully combined environmental care, cultural engagement, and community building.
