The meeting held in Udine last Thursday, 19 February, marked the transition to the second phase of the Interreg ITA–SLO SUPER VIEW project. Following the completion of the analysis of existing monitoring systems in Udine and Ajdovščina, the focus now shifts to risk assessment.
During the morning session, the main progress achieved so far in project implementation was presented, together with the next steps for activating a shared early warning network among local communities. Significant time was also devoted to discussion and the identification of new synergies aimed at strengthening cooperation between cross-border territories, with the goal of improving response capacity to extreme weather events.
Technological integration with existing systems and cross-border interoperability represent the project’s central strategic objective, as they form the essential basis for the development of a scalable, multi-risk and replicable Early Warning System (EWS). Through a shared, integrable and technically coherent architecture, it will be possible to ensure operational continuity, effective data exchange and coordination among the territories involved.
The project will continue with the involvement of public stakeholders, with the aim of presenting the project’s objectives and actions and collecting contributions, feedback and suggestions from those directly engaged in managing alert situations and extreme weather events. In this context, the timeliness and effectiveness of interventions are decisive factors in reducing and mitigating negative impacts on territories and communities.
