On May 26th, 2025 the Managing Authority of the Interreg VI-A Italy-Slovenia Programme has signed the financing contract of the standard project MARE SUPERUM.
The MARE SUPERUM project faces mass tourism, a phenomenon that led to exclusion of a large part of the destinations and communities in the area from participatory processes, generating phenomena of social marginalization and cultural homologation. In recent years it has been noticed an increasing interest among some visitors in ethical and respectful tourism to less popular destinations. Therefore, MARE SUPERUM aims to develop, using a cross-border partnership, a common tourist product, inspired by the principles of social and environmental sustainability, capable of enhancing, preserving and promoting the maritime heritage of the area. At the same time, to increase social inclusion, it is necessary to actively involve local communities in every decision-making process.
The Lead Partner of the project is Venice and Rovigo metropolitan Confesercenti, which will collaborate with 5 Project Partners.
