WORKSHOP “INNOVATE TOURISM”: On November 17 and 19, discover how to create new services for tourists

Workshop in Italy, 17/11/2025, 9am-1pm, at the Sistiana InfoPoint – FOR INFO: fvg@ecipa.eu

Workshop in Slovenia, 19/11/2025, 9am-1pm, at the Lijak Green Entry Center – FOR INFO: best@primorski-tp.si

Today, those working in tourism—whether they are guides, travel agencies, cultural managers, restaurateurs, or baristas—have a myriad of innovative tools at their disposal: from artificial intelligence to the metaverse, from new experiential formats to collaborative methods for developing tailor-made services.
Yet, analyses by the European BEST project have shown that most operators in Italy and Slovenia do not use them. This is often because these technologies are thought to be complex, expensive, or “reserved for large companies.”

The free workshop “INNOVATING TOURISM – Creative and innovative tools for developing tourist services” is designed to dispel this myth and show small businesses in our area – with practical examples and concrete tools – how even with minimal investment they can innovate their offering and provide memorable experiences for visitors (thus increasing their customer flow!).

Two workshops are planned, one on the Italian side and the other on the Slovenian side:

WORKSHOP IN ITALY

When: November 17, 2025, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by a light lunch

Where: SISTIANA INFOPOINT, Sistiana, 56/B, 34011 Duino

WORKSHOP IN SLOVENIA

When: November 19, 2025, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Where: Zeleni vstopni center Lijak

THE VALUE YOU GET

Because today, innovation is not an option, it is a necessity.
Even a bar or restaurant is an integral part of the tourist experience: those who come to Friuli Venezia Giulia or Slovenia are not just looking for a meal, a drink, or a guided tour, but an integrated experience, made up of hospitality, storytelling, authenticity, and value.
And this value can be built by making intelligent use of the technologies and networks already available.

The BEST project has demonstrated this: the potential of the cross-border network between Italy and Slovenia is enormous, but still largely untapped.
During the workshop, we will discover how to become an active part of it, with real case studies and practical tools for creating innovative tourism collaborations and services that transcend borders.

PROGRAM

09:00 – Introduction to BEST opportunities
Free services offered by the project to support the growth of tourism and cultural businesses in the cross-border area.

09:10 – The Innovation Catalyst method for developing new tourism services
