On Monday, September 30, a workshop was held in the village community center in Sočerga, as part of the Interreg Italia-Slovenija POSEIDONE project, to present the landscape design for the area at Sv. Kvirik.
The event was attended by locals and other interested parties who had the opportunity to actively participate in the design of the final solutions. At the workshop, the project partner, the Regional Development Center Koper (RRC Koper), in cooperation with architects, presented a proposal for a landscape design for the area at Sv. Kvirik.
The emphasis was on the arrangement of paths, viewpoints, planting indigenous plants and finding a balance between the accessibility of the area and the protection of sensitive natural features. The workshop showed how important cooperation between experts and the local community is. It is the locals who know the characteristics of the area best, so their experiences and suggestions significantly complement professional solutions. The collected proposals will be included in the updated landscape design in the coming months, which will serve as the basis for further development of the area near Sv. Kvirik.
