On June 17, 2024, as part of the capitalization project "IRRIGAVIT – Rational Irrigation and Soil Management in Cross-border Viticulture" of the Interreg VI-A Italy-Slovenia 2021-2027 Program, the event titled "FIELD EVENT: WATER DYNAMICS IN THE VINEYARD AND HYDROGEOLOGICAL AND ISOTOPIC ANALYSES" was held. Originally scheduled for May 20, the event was postponed due to unfavorable weather conditions in June.
The event took place at the Specogna Agricultural Estate in Corno di Rosazzo (UD) and was attended by 35 experts, including producers, researchers, and viticulture technicians from Italy and Slovenia. It featured a practical demonstration of soil and water sampling in the vineyard, supported by research teams from Ca' Foscari University of Venice, the University of Udine, and the Consortium for the Protection of Friuli Colli Orientali and Ramandolo Wines.
Following the field demonstration, at Villa Nachini Cabassi, researchers from Ca' Foscari University presented the theoretical aspects of water dynamics in the vineyard and introduced the hydrogeological and isotopic analyses being conducted in their laboratories. The event provided a valuable opportunity for knowledge exchange, involving a wide audience of winegrowers and sector stakeholders.
The day concluded at 12:45 with a final toast, offering participants a moment of networking and discussion. The visibility of the Specogna Estate and the Consortium’s collaboration in promoting the event significantly contributed to its success.
