CROSS-BORDER MASTERCLASS MEDS GARDEN+: "Roots and Flavors: Exploring the Slow Food Excellence of the FVG Region"

Held at the Laboratory of the AD FORMANDUM Culinary School, guided by Chef Almir Begić - Koper.

This Masterclass is a journey into the unique gastronomic features of the Slow Food communities of Friuli Venezia Giulia, with a particular focus on the technical role of the chef in enhancing local products. The event is designed for stakeholders and target groups, with special attention to students, aiming to raise awareness of the importance of seasonality, culinary traditions, and environmental sustainability in cooking.

The main guest of the event will be Almir Begić, a renowned Slovenian chef from Koper. Begić places great emphasis on using local products, stating that he draws inspiration primarily from fresh ingredients, which can be transformed into extraordinary dishes. He completed his training at the Hospitality School in Izola (SLO) and later at the Higher School for Hospitality and Tourism in Bled (SLO). Over the years, he has worked as a chef in à la carte restaurants along the Slovenian coast, holding the position of head chef in several establishments.

The cross-border Masterclass will be broadcast live on the ZOOM platform.

Bilingual support in Italian and Slovenian will be provided. The event is free of charge until all available spots are filled.
