As part of the communication activities of the European project Bee2gether, Veneto Agricoltura – Lead Partner of the project – has published the second issue of the Beekeeping Bulletin for the year 2025, the fourth since the beginning of the project. The bulletin continues to be a valuable tool to update the beekeeping community and the interested public on ongoing actions, raising awareness of the importance of bees as bioindicators and their role in preserving biodiversity.
This edition presents some of the most relevant topics currently affecting the sector, including project updates, technical aspects of hive management, and reflections on the relationship between beekeeping and the environment.

📅 Final project conference – 28 August 2025, Vallevecchia (VE)
This issue announces the final event of the Bee2gether project, which will be held at the Vallevecchia farm in Brussa di Caorle. It will be an opportunity to share the results achieved, present the cross-border action plan for sustainable agriculture, and discuss the technologies developed within the project, including electronic hives and the environmental monitoring app.

A focus on a critical phenomenon that occurs more frequently during the summer months, when food shortages can trigger aggressive behavior between colonies. The bulletin provides practical guidance on how to recognize signs of robbing, even in the absence of the beekeeper, and offers useful tips for prevention.

🌿 The legend of wild honey bees
This article explores the value of unmanaged colonies that can adapt to the environment and survive without human intervention. It presents the experience of the BeeWild App, developed to report wild colonies, and the contribution of the “Bee Guardian” volunteer network in supporting scientific research.
