On 3rd July 2025, the final event of the Interreg ENGREEN 2 project took place at Villa Bogdano 1880 in Lison di Portogruaro. This unique occasion celebrated the link between environmental conservation and territorial development.
The day began with a guided tour of the historic vineyards and the Lison Woods, led by Monica, the company's welcoming expert. Guests explored the ancient Tai vineyards, in production since the 19th century, and the Lison Woods, a Natura 2000 site. The visit highlighted the delicate sustainable balance between humans and nature, with habitats for species such as deer and herons.
After a coffee break, Erika Zuodar, representing the Lead Partner, and Giovanni Manisi from VeGAL opened the conference. Erika summarised the activities of the ENGREEN 2 project, focusing on the management of green infrastructure.
VeGAL then presented updates on biodiversity guidelines, prepared by Agenda 21 Consulting. Giacomo Munegato outlined the latest version, setting the groundwork for the project’s forthcoming conclusion.
Representatives Ester Mihalič and Goran Čuk showcased the results of the seven pilot actions, including the restoration of ponds and the installation of sustainable tourist infrastructures. Special attention was given to the revival of the DOC Lison Pramaggiore Wine Route through the creation of a "food forest."
Dr. Stefano Soldati, a renowned permaculture expert, closed the conference by focusing on "food forests," explaining their relevance to sustainable agriculture and viticulture, outlining a future vision where sustainability integrates with agricultural innovation.
The event allowed for reflection on the advancements of the ENGREEN 2 project, laying the foundation for future projects that combine natural heritage and the building of resilient communities.
