On Friday 27 June, as part of the European project ENGREEN 2 co-funded by the European Union through the Interreg VI-A Italy-Slovenia Programme, an evening dedicated to the history of water mills in the Rosandra Valley was held, with a focus on the “Štranjev malen”. Prof. Vesna Mikolič introduced the historical research of Maurizio Radacich, who reconstructed the evolution of the mills from Klanec to the mouth of Aquilinia. The new information panels inside the Reserve were also presented. Thanks to family testimonies, archival documents and meticulous research, Radacich has traced a historical picture that spans centuries of life and work in the valley. Prof. Boris Pangerc then highlighted the challenges involved in translating and preserving obsolete technical terminology, but also the unique value of the work for future generations.

On Sunday 29 June, a guided walk took place along the Rosandra stream, from the Zbirni centre to Zvirk, where the Klinč'ca mill once stood. The initiative, led by Saimon Ferfolja and Maurizio Radacich, allowed participants to rediscover traces of the past immersed in nature.
A monograph edited by the Capodistria Scientific Research Centre will be published shortly, bringing together the entire research project, with a technical introduction by Prof. Mikolič and Slovenian translation by Petra Berlot Kužner and Boris Pangerc.
