On 26 November, the second meeting of the PALLIPES project was successfully held, an important opportunity for all Partners to discuss the data collected so far and plan the next steps of the project.
The meeting was held at the charming Visitor Centre of the Val Rosandra Nature Reserve, a symbolic location for river biodiversity and ecosystem protection, perfect for hosting an event of this importance. The morning was dedicated to an intense work session, during which the participants shared and discussed the results of the activities carried out, strengthening the collaboration between the entities involved. Accompanying the work were local delicacies and the aroma of local coffee, which contributed to making the atmosphere even more convivial.
After a fruitful exchange of ideas, the meeting continued with a moment of conviviality: the participants moved to the heart of the Karst, where they were able to enjoy a delicious typical lunch at the Milič Zagrski Farm. An authentic experience of tradition and local flavours, perfect for strengthening ties between the project partners.
The day was rounded off with a study visit to the spectacular Slivia Towers Cave. Here, participants were able to admire up close the extraordinary karst formations, the result of a natural modelling process that lasted millions of years. A fascinating experience that allowed them to connect even more closely with the area and its unique geological history.
The meeting represented an important milestone in the PALLIPES project, consolidating the work done and strengthening the joint commitment to protect the Austropotamobius pallipes crayfish and the precious aquatic habitats in which it lives.
