Within the AGROTUR+ – Karst Local Products and Tourism project, a new brochure entitled “Teran of the Karst – characteristics and secrets of a unique Karst wine” has been developed, offering insight into the story of Teran, its distinctive features, and its importance in the Karst landscape and culture.
The brochure presents Teran as a protected Karst wine shaped by unique natural conditions – the red Karst soil, climate, and traditional viticultural practices. Special attention is also given to scientific findings on the composition of Teran, its microbiological characteristics, the importance of malolactic fermentation, and the relationship between wine, the Karst landscape and people. The content is based on materials developed within the Digital Teran Museum and represents their thematic extension in the form of a digital publication.
The Digital Teran Museum is one of the results of the AGROTUR+ project and is freely accessible to the public in Štanjel and Dutovlje.
The brochure is available in four languages:
Slovenian | Italian | English | German
Through the brochure and the Digital Teran Museum, the AGROTUR+ project contributes to increasing the visibility of Teran and to a contemporary interpretation of Karst heritage, supporting sustainable tourism in the cross-border Karst area.
