RE-ACTIVE
Policy objective: ISO 1 - A better cooperation governance
Typology: Standard project
The RE-ACTIVE project addresses the limited participation of civil society in climate risk management in the Italy-Slovenia cross-border area, with particular attention to linguistic minority communities. Despite consolidated experience in territorial cooperation, civil society remains marginal in governance processes, a situation aggravated by linguistic, administrative, and cultural barriers that hinder effective involvement in decision-making processes.
- to promote active participation and co-responsibility regarding climate change by strengthening the competencies of both the associative world and civil society as well as public institutions.
- to transform current barriers into opportunities for cooperation, developing shared methodologies and tools to increase awareness and resilience of the local community.
The main outputs include: a bilingual Resilience Kit distributed in 5000 copies, Guidelines for sustainable events, three funding calls for cultural initiatives (two in Italy, one in Slovenia), a climate resilience app, and a policy paper on participation. Direct beneficiaries will be linguistic minority communities, cultural associations, public officials, local and regional authorities, youth, and the cross-border area population.
