SANITAS
Policy objective: ISO 1 - A better cooperation governance
Typology: Standard project
The SANITAS project addresses a common challenge of adapting to climate change through more comprehensive, coordinated and strengthened cross-border cooperation, improving equipment, skills and speed of response to natural disasters through the implementation of preventive measures in the cross-border programme area.
- To strengthen the institutional cooperation capacity of health organisations and other key actors in the event of natural disasters as a consequence of climate change.
- To increase the availability of essential health care for the population in the event of natural disasters.
The expected results of the project include the signing and implementation of the Cross-Border Protocol in the field of primary health care in the wider cross-border area of Slovenia and Italy, further cross-border cooperation between the project partners in order to obtain as many co-signatories as possible, and further cooperation of health and rescue teams in activities that will enable them to be adequately prepared for a rapid response to natural disasters.
