Project summary

Policy objectivePO 2 - A greener, low-carbon transitioning towards a net zero carbon economy and resilient Europe by promoting clean and fair energy transition, green and blue investment, the circular economy, climate change mitigation and adaptation and risk prevention and management

Specific objectiveSO 4 - Promoting climate change adaptation and disaster risk prevention, resilience, taking into account eco-system based approaches

TypologyStandard project

The challenge addressed by the SUPER VIEW project is the increased risks related to extreme weather events and the need to improve the response capacity of local communities. The overall objective of the project is to improve adaptation to climate change through early detection of risks related to extreme weather events, by creating a network between local communities. Specifically the project will work in the area of the municipalities of Udine and Ajdovščina, providing them with timely information and early warnings on climatic and meteorological threats.

Objectives
  • To improve adaptation to climate change through early detection of risks related to extreme weather events, by creating a network between local communities;
  • To transform the current management of climate emergencies with an AIoT system that will allow a more effective response to threats and significantly reduce the impact of extreme events on communities;
  • To protect lives and reduce the potential costs of extreme events by minimising the impact on individuals, families and public and private institutions.
Output

The expected change that the project will bring to the current situation, thanks to timely access to data from multiple sources, is a faster intervention in managing the vulnerability of the areas involved, early detection of risks, reducing costs and negative impacts of disasters due to climate change. Negative impacts will be mitigated through timely and effective actions that local administrations can implement using data collected by the new system.
