CycleProMotion
Policy objective: PO4 - A more social and inclusive Europe implementing the European Pillar of Social Rights
Specific objective: SO 6 - enhancing the role of culture and sustainable tourism in economic development, social inclusion and social innovation
Typology: Standard project
CycleProMotion addresses the challenges of cycle tourism and sustainable mobility along the North-South border axis between Slovenia and Italy. Existing solutions are partial and do not take into account the fact that along the border axis different systems intersect and are not coordinated with each other. There is a lack of information and homogeneity in the services offered and a lack of coordination between institutions and actors, which would allow better integration and joint promotion of the cross-border area as a single and attractive destination for cycle tourism.
The project is co-financed by the Autonomous Region Friuli Venezia Giulia with a contribution of 732.175,20 €.
- strengthen the role of sustainable tourism in the ITA - SLO cross-border area through the development and promotion of a common tourism product to promote slow mobility and cycle tourism and by linking four information hubs along the border, thus contributing to the economic development and social inclusion of the area;
- optimise the physical and information space through digital hubs for the exchange of information and services, contribute to the implementation of sustainable and innovative practices in tourism and to the digitisation of the tourism sector.
The main direct impacts of the project are a common strategy for the promotion of cycle tourism in the cross-border area, 2 pilot activities including the establishment of a network of 4 smart cycle stations and a cross-border tourism product linking the existing cycling infrastructure in the crossborder area, as well as public jointly organised cross-border events to promote cycling. The project results are a common strategy, 2 solutions used by the organisations and 6 organisations that will continue to work together after the project.
