On Friday, April 17, 2026, at 6:00 PM, the ceremonial opening of the House Zdravljica will take place in Podnanos (Podnanos 42). The cultural program will be enriched by selected speakers and musical performances, followed by a guided tour of the house and socializing with refreshments and a wine tasting. The evening will continue at 8:00 PM with a concert by Neisha at the Cultural Hall in Podnanos (Kulturni dom Podnanos).

The House Zdravljica represents a new cultural venue dedicated to the life and work of composer Stanko Premrl, the author of the melody of the Slovenian national anthem. It is a modern interpretive center that presents, in an engaging and accessible way, the origins of the Slovenian anthem and the country’s rich cultural heritage. The story dates back to 1844, when France Prešeren wrote the poem Zdravljica, which was set to music in 1905 by Stanko Premrl. His melody of the seventh verse is today the Slovenian national anthem and an important symbol of statehood. The renovated house in Premrl’s hometown offers insight into his creative work, while also opening a gateway to the wider Vipava Valley, where visitors can explore the region’s rich cultural and natural heritage.

Open to the public, free of charge! You are warmly invited.

The House Zdravljica was created as part of the BEroots project “Between Rivers and Lagoons: Artistic Routes,” co-financed by the European Union under the Interreg Italy–Slovenia program.
