After the success of the previous edition, the Circular Rainbow project will once again take part in the Collega-menti Festival, scheduled in Udine from 3 to 5 October 2025. The event, promoted by the University of Udine in collaboration with the Municipality and other partners, has become a benchmark for dialogue between research, innovation and civil society, bringing laboratories, exhibitions and interactive installations into the heart of the city’s historic centre.
In the exhibition area set up in the former church of San Francesco, the team of the University of Udine, lead partner of the project, will present the installation “When IoT technology meets aquaculture”, designed to show how sensors and automation can transform aquaculture, making it more efficient, sustainable and appealing to new generations of farmers.
The exhibition will feature:
- a 3D model and informative materials to explore sector principles and technologies,
- a documentary video projected on a large screen,
- dedicated tables to illustrate practical applications and benefits of IoT in aquaculture.
The initiative will be led by the University of Udine professors and researchers involved in the Circular Rainbow project – Gloriana Cardinaletti, Francesca Tulli, Giovanni Cortella, Alessandro Chiumenti – together with a group of young collaborators, including students, PhD candidates, postgraduate fellows and research assistants (Diego Capraro, Davide Paolin, Margherita Cuzzit, Michele Libralato).
Participation in Collega-menti 2025 is another opportunity to showcase how aquaculture can benefit from new digital technologies and help build a safer and more sustainable food model, in line with the global challenges of feeding a growing population.
