On Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at 9:00 AM, a technical-scientific event entitled “Circular aquaculture and innovative approaches in fish farming”will take place at the PRC – Development Centre of the Soča Valley (Tolmin, Slovenia), within the framework of the CIRCULAR RAINBOW project. The event is organised by the partner KGZS Zavod Kranj in collaboration with the Associated partner PRC.
The event will focus on innovative solutions for sustainable aquaculture, with particular attention to recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) and digital tools supporting production management.
The programme includes:
• innovative approaches in fish farming (RAS and hybrid systems);
• digital solutions for monitoring and optimizing production (DiGiTrout);
• demonstration of the digital twin and DiGiTrout web interface;
• sustainability aspects, including reuse of wastewater and fish sludge, with best practice examples.
Participants will also gain insights into the main results of the CIRCULAR RAINBOW project, which promotes circular trout farming aimed at improving production efficiency, environmental and economic sustainability, and resilience to climate change.
The event will conclude with a discussion session and networking opportunities.
